About the team

Building on years of preparatory effort by many people on the HKW team (all introduced here), our team at mediale pfade, supported by our paid assistants and thanks to funding from the Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung, have spent the last few months working on our educational approach. Now, as the Archive of Refuge is inaugurated and the conference is underway, we can publish them. We will continue to publish methods and approaches.

The mediale pfade team

Katrin Hünemörder

Katrin Hünemörder is a trainer and project manager. She co-founded European Youth Press and Jugendpresse Deutschland. She supported the medicines campaign at Doctors Without Borders and also worked with the action alliance against AIDS. Christine Kolbe

As a project developer and concept designer, Christine Kolbe is a stalwart member of the mediale pfade team. Her focus lies on learning for digital change, open education, educational making, and digital arts. In the past she has advised numerous civil society campaigns, supporting them actively in the process and moderating. Analysing digital network architectures and understanding how they enrich and change our world has been at the heart of her thinking and creativity for many years.

Daniel Seitz

Daniel Seitz is a media educator, writer and founder of mediale pfade. He believes firmly that media education is potentially an important factor in political participation, self-development and creativity, and he is passionate about a free, politically aware society. Seitz contributes, among others, to the Medienpädagogik Praxis blog and to netzpolitik.org, his key themes being hacker culture, coding and making, and Web videos. He advises numerous civil society organisations on digital issues and network policies.

Birte Frische

Birte Frische is a media educator, ethnologist, gender researcher and culture manager. She designs and implements projects, workshops and formats at the interfaces between digital media, political education and participation. She is currently running a project for the ABC Bildungs- und Tagungszentrum e.V. that links physical movement and sport to media.

Eva Hasel

Eva Hasel is involved in outreach work for memorial sites, does copy editing and devises conceptual media strategies. She graduated in rhetoric, media studies and electronic media. Her specialities are memory culture, collective memory and (post-) conflict regions. She is currently a member of two think tanks (at the concentration camp memorial in Flossenbürg and at the centre for holocaust research, University of Haifa, Israel), where she designs media projects around themes such as eye-witness accounts and augmented reality.

Zahra Joharimajd

Zahra Joharimajd is a media artist, concept communicator and specialist in virtual and augmented reality. She studied fine arts at the University of Art, Tehran, and is currently studying expanded realities at the Hochschule Darmstadt. Joharimajd investigates the creative and philosophical dimensions of new digital media technologies and is deepening her composition skills so that she can combine music and concerts with virtual reality. Joharimajd designs and leads creative workshops at schools in Iran.

Christine Lordong

Christine Lordong graduated in business administration. After pursuing management studies with a focus on marketing at Leicester, she moved to Amsterdam for a traineeship. Sika Dede Puhlmann

Sika Dede Puhlmann is a case worker, educator and writer. She has many years of experience working with refugee children and teenagers. She co-founded Bildung Macht Rassismus, which aims to make educational practice defined by a critique of racism accessible to a broader public. She has been working on an expert report monitoring racism for the DeZIM Institute and on a contribution to Natasha A. Kelly’s book “Sisters and Souls 2” (2021).
